UAV members attended the CITRIS 2nd Annual Agricultural Technology Fair on Wednesday,
March 8th during UC Merced's Research Week. The AgTech Fair celebrated the significant
and innovative work being conducted at the university, including the use of drones to monitor
crop performance, data analytics for agricultural practices, smart transportation of crops,
new discoveries in water information management, recent advances in nut-bearing crop
yields, and mechanized harvesting of fresh market crops. These real-world applications help
many sectors that affect the lives of all Californians. By showcasing emerging technologies
backed by cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial innovation, the University of California
hopes to place the San Joaquin Valley on the map as a center for new ideas in the agricultural
technology sector.
