The Iris+ is compatible with a gimble but only GoPro cameras can be attatched. The team decided against aquiring a GoPro since the wide angle lens would distort the images dramatically. As a result, we need to come up with a new way to attatch the camera to the UAV. We chose to 3D print an enclosure to affix to the UAV.
The platform team have 3D-printed an enclosure for the digital camera. The enclosure is made out of ABS plastic. The cap took approximately 40 minutes to print while the body took a couple of hours. Two openings have been incorporated in the back of the body so that it can be attatched to the UAV utilizing zipties. |
