The UAV platform team visited MESA Lab to conduct a field test of the IRIS+ drone. An attempt
to pilot the drone was made to ensure flight. After a trial run, slight errors within the flight balance
due to wing motors were identified. Derek Hollenbeck, a PhD student under YangQuan Chen,
assisted with small mechanical repairs to one of the drone wings and recalibrated the controller's
connection with the IRIS+ drone. Stable flight was achieved following these fixes
and the drone successfully hovered within the flight net.
