On October 25th the UAS team visited the KARE Center in order gather root samples of infected trees, and thermal images the walnut canopies. The trip was a success with many root samples gathered and thermal images taken. Preliminary data was obtained that will help inform the research methods, and goals. This early analysis is imperative to the completion of the project by allowing the team to compare know contamination levels with thermal canopy temperatures. With the first flight up and many more to come the UAS team is eager to continue data gathering, opening a new chapter in the project.
