UAS Sample Testing @KARE (10/30/19)

October 5, 2019

On October 30, 2019, the UAS Team visited the KARE Center in order to obtain more data samples. The trip was a success as the team personally dug up root samples and took part in counting the amount of infected nematodes in samples offered at the KARE Center. The drone was not flown in this trip as we focus on root sampling and nematode count. By doing ground testing, we are able to verify if a tree is infected which we will correlate the data with our thermal images taken of the same canopies, eventually leading to an easier form of detection. The UAS team is eager to seek more data gathering which will push the project even further.
